Synopsis

Osomatsu and his lazy NEET brothers are back, but this time, in order to put an end to their leisurely lives, they set out on a journey to find a legendary fruit called the Kirakira Fruit that will make any wish come true if eaten. By chance, they arrive on an island, where they meet the strange-looking Hipipo Tribe. The biggest story in the history of the series is about to begin!

Background

Osomatsu-san is a multimedia franchise based on the manga Osomatsu-kun by Fujio Akatsuka that includes manga, novels, games, theatrical anime, and more. Osomatsu-san Hipipo-Zoku to Kagayaku Kajitsu is the franchise’s second theatrical movie. It is being produced by Pierrot and features Yoshinori Odaka as director, with Shu Matsubara handling the screenplay, Eiji Abiko handling character designs, and Yukari Hashimoto composing the music. The film’s opening theme song is “Ignition!!!” by PUNPEE feat. the Matsuno Sextuplets & Hipipo Tribe and the Friends of Akazuka Ward, and the ending theme song is “Hanamaru Pippi wa Yoiko Dake (Reiwa Ver.)” by AOP. The film will open in theaters across Japan on July 8, 2022.

Characters

Osomatsu (Voiced by: Takahiro Sakurai)
The first born and eldest of the sextuplets, Osomatsu thinks of himself as the leader and most responsible of the group. Though laid-back, he tends to cause a lot of trouble for his brothers. He usually dresses in red.

Karamatsu (Voiced by: Yuichi Nakamura)
The second born of the sextuplets, Karamatsu is confident and charismatic, but he is often oblivious to what is going on around him. He tends to take everything told to him very seriously. Though he tries to act cool through the way he dresses and always being quick with a confident one-liner, more often than not he is seen as anything but. He usually dresses in blue clothes with the sleeves rolled up.

Choromatsu (Voiced by: Hiroshi Kamiya)
The third born of the sextuplets, Choromatsu is the most logical of his brothers and considers himself to also be the most mature. He is an idol otaku who has a weak spot for cute girls. He tends to overthink things and acts as the straight man of the group. He often wears green-colored clothing.

Ichimatsu (Voiced by: Jun Fukuyama)
The fourth born of the sextuplets, Ichimatsu is sensitive and has a hard time expressing his emotions. He is a cat lover with a lone-wolf type of personality who would rather spend time with cats than with people. He often wears a purple hoodie.

Jyushimatsu (Voiced by: Daisuke Ono)
The fifth born of the sextuplets, Jyushimatsu is an energetic airhead with a kind and outgoing personality. Of his brothers, he is the strangest and most child-like. He usually wears a yellow hoodie.

Todomatsu (Voiced by: Miyu Irino)
The sixth born and youngest of the sextuplets, Todomatsu is effeminate and fashion forward and is a total chick magnet because of it. He appears cute and innocent on the surface, but he also has a cold, manipulative side. He has pink highlights in his hair and often dresses in pink.

Hipipo Tribe
A mysterious tribe who fall in love with the Matsuno brothers for some reason. They make a living selling a certain specialty.

Totoko (Voiced by: Aya Endo)
Totoko is the romantic interest of the sextuplets and Chibita.

Matsuzo Matsuno (Voiced by: Kazuhiko Inoue)
Matsuzo is the father of the sextuplets.

Matsuyo Matsuno (Voiced by: Kujira)
Matsuyo is the mother of the sextluplets.

Iyami (Voiced by: Kenichi Suzumura)
Iyami is a flashy, self-centered man who has a love of French culture and claims to have toured around France. He has eccentric features including prominent buckteeth, a thin mustache, and a Renaissance-style haircut. He often steals, cheats, or lies to get what he wants. He poses strangely and shouts “Sheeeh!”

Chibita (Voiced by: Sachi Kokuryu)
Chibita is the brothers’ rival. He has a short stature and is a hard worker. He is often annoyed at the brothers’ slacker ways and refusal to pay their tabs.He has a passion for oden and is obsessed with creating the perfect type.

Dekapan (Voiced by: Yoji Ueda)
Dekapan is a heavyset middle-aged man with a huge heart and easy-going personality. He loves animals and strives to help others.

Dayon (Voiced by: Nobuo Tobita)
Dayon is a simple, easy-going man with a large mouth that allows him to swallow anything he wants. He’s a bit of a glutton.
