Synopsis

In a world where every corner has been explored, the Abyss is the only remaining unexplored region. In this enormous, endless cavern live strange and bizarre creatures and precious ancient relics that lie in wait to be found. The mysteries of the Abyss attract adventurers from all over, and those who repeatedly venture into the Abyss come to be known as Delvers.

Riko is an orphan living in Orth, a city on the edge of the Abyss, who dreams of one day diving into the Abyss after learning that her mother Lyza was a White Whistle. She is joined by Reg, a robot boy who accompanies her in search of his lost memories. After being poisoned in the 4th layer of the Abyss, she is saved by Nanachi, who becomes their companion and ventures with them to the 5th layer, where Bondrewd awaits them. There, they meet a girl named Prushka, who was raised by Bondrewd and has never seen the outside world. She is fascinated by Riko’s stories of adventure and wishes to go on an adventure of her own with her, but she is instead used in one of Bondrewd’s experiments. However, her longing for adventure causes her to turn into a Life Reverberating Stone for Riko, and together, they head to the 6th layer to the “Capital of the Unreturned.”
