Call of Duty is a massively popular first-person shooting game franchise that is published by Activision. The first installment of the series was released in October 2003 for Microsoft Windows, OS X, and N-Gage and was later ported to the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2009. To date, over a dozen different main series games have been released, with the most recent installment being Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, which was released on November 13th, 2020. It is currently the best-selling first-person shooting game franchise and the third best-selling game franchise overall, losing only to Nintendo’s Mario and Pokemon franchises. Due to the success of the Call of Duty games, fans were eager to get their hands on merchandise to show their support for the series. One such type of merchandise that fans like to collect are figures of their favorite characters from the series. Some of the most popular Call of Duty figures that fans can purchase include the “figma Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Ruin”, the “Pop! Games: Call of Duty - Brutus”, and the “Pop! Games: Call of Duty - Price”.

Underneath the helmet is Brutus’s shriveled, pale yellow face and bright, glowing red eyes. The outfit he wears is made out of thick leather and has chains wrapped all around it. Two grenades and a security badge are also attached to his chest as well. Underneath the leather armor is a blue uniform, hinting toward his possible history as a prison guard. Brutus himself is posed standing menacingly as he grasps a club in one hand as if he were threatening to swing it at his target. Brutus’ also seems to be shouting out loud, exposing his discolored teeth. Since Pop! figures are moderately priced and widely accessible, this figure would make a great addition to any fan’s collection.

The Call of Duty Story

As a franchise that has been around for nearly two decades and has over a dozen main entries, the settings and stories can vary wildly. Many games generally fall into three sub-series: the World War II series, the Modern Warfare series, and the Black Ops series. As the name suggests, the first three games in the Call of Duty franchise are set in World War II. The campaign of these games lets players play from the perspective of soldiers representing several different countries, like the United States, Canada, Poland, and so on. The Modern Warfare games are set in much more recent times, with most of their events taking place between 2011 and 2017. In terms of story, the Modern Warfare series involves a fictional timeline where Russia is engaged in a civil war with the revolutionary Ultranationalist party, which strives to return the country to its Soviet Union days. The Black Ops games take place in several eras, from the Cold War all the way to several decades in the future.

The Call of Duty Development

Although all games in the Call of Duty franchise are all published by Activision, several different developers have worked on various entries in the series. The original developer of the series was Infinity Ward, though they still develop Call of Duty games to this day. Their most recent game in the series is the battle royal shooter, Call of Duty: Warzone. Other developers involved in developing various Call of Duty games include Treyarch, Sledgehammer Games, and Raven Software. Games in this franchise are usually developed for multiple platforms. These platforms include whichever systems were available at the time of development. In terms of reception, Call of Duty games are generally praised by fans for their online multiplayer and competitive gameplay. The recurring “Zombies” mode is also considered a highlight of the series by many.
