Tohka Yatogami Date A Live - Figures
Date A Live is a popular science fiction, romantic comedy, and harem light novel series that was written by Koshi Tachibana and published from March 2011 to March 2020. Although the main series spans over twenty-two volumes, there are multiple side-story and spin-off novel series like Date A Bullet and Date A Live Encore. Due to the success of the light novel series, Date A Live has received several seasons of an anime adaptation, with the first season airing in April 2013. The second and third seasons aired beginning in April 2014 and January 2019 respectively. As of 2020, a fourth season of the anime adaptation has been announced and is currently in production. With the success of the franchise as a whole, fans were eager to search for various kinds of merchandise to show support and love for Date A Live and its various characters. One such character is Tohka Yatogami, the first Spirit that the protagonist encounters. Date A Live Tohka Yatogami 1/7 Scale Figure
This figure from Kaitendoh features Tohka after she has transformed into her Spirit form. Her outfit consists of purple and cream armor that covers her chest and torso, a matching butterfly-shaped accessory in her hair, a two-layered pink knee-length skirt, and a pair of black boots and thigh-high socks. Tohka herself is posed standing on one leg as she wields the sword from her Angel, Sandalphon, with both hands. Despite being ready for battle, Tohka has a bright, cheerful smile on her face. Although this figure is quite detailed throughout, particular attention was given to Tohka’s hair and pink skirt, as they both flow elegantly as if picked up by a gentle breeze.

Date A Live (Light Novel) Tohka Yatogami: Finest Kimono Ver. 1/7 Scale Figure
This figure from KADOKAWA Corporation was inspired by a unique cover illustration by the light novel’s illustrator, Tsunako, which appeared in the March 2019 edition of Dragon Magazine. Rather than have Tohka wearing her usual high school uniform or Spirit outfit, this figure has her dressed in a beautiful kimono. This kimono is a light lavender color but fades into a deep shade of violet along the bottom. A floral pattern also decorates the sleeves and lower part of the dress as well, adding some complexity to the design. Tohka is also posed standing happily as she holds her Angel sword in one hand and a traditional Japanese coin purse in the other. Her sword is also decorated with Japanese festive ornaments, like a red and white rope and matching paper shade. The included stand also had a matching floral design, giving the figure a balanced look.

Nendoroid Date A Live Tohka Yatogami Figure (Re-run)
This figure from Good Smile Company’s incredibly popular Nendoroid line takes Tohka’s design and gives it an even cuter chibi-style twist. In this recreation of Tohka, she is wearing her Spirit form’s Astral Dress and wields her Angel sword, Sandalphon, in one hand. Like many other figures from the Nendoroid line, this figure of Tohka is articulated and features several extra parts to allow users to pose her in a variety of different ways. Three different facial expressions are included to help create even more possibilities: a neutral face, a shouting face, and an embarrassed face. Other parts like a slashing effect, an energy ball, and a text panel are also included as well. The included stand is also articulated, allowing users to keep the figure of Tohka standing no matter what pose she is in.

About Tohka Yatogami
Tohka Yatogami is one of the several Spirits that appear throughout the series and is the first Spirit that the protagonist, Shido Itsuka, encounters. As an unsealed Spirit, Tohka was hunted by the Anti-Spirit Team and had a very cold personality. After her powers were sealed by Shido, she slowly learned how to express more emotions. Since she is emotionally very young, Tohka is generally seen as childish, excitable, and naive. She also has an alternate personality when she transforms into her Inverse form. When in her Spirit form, she uses her Angel, Sandalphon, which is shaped like a throne and also acts as a sheath for her sword.
Other Important Date A Live Characters
As one of the main characters in Date A Live, she interacts with many different characters throughout the series. One of the characters she interacts with most, however, is the protagonist, Shindo Itsuka. Tohka is very much in love with Shindo after he had accepted her for who and what she was. After Shindo began interacting with other Spirits, Tohka became very jealous, though she eventually came to terms with these conflicting emotions. Yoshino Himekawa is the second Spirit who had their power sealed away by Shido and was the main source of this jealousy. After Tohka learned the reason why Shido was pursuing Yoshino, the two Spirits became quite close and are often seen following each other.
