A3! Season Autumn & Winter

Synopsis

Mankai Company is an all-male theater troupe with a big problem: it’s down to its last member and debt collectors are knocking at the door. Now it’s up to Izumi Tachibana, the director of the troupe and the daughter of the previous director, Yukio Tachibana, to find a way to save the company and return her father’s theater to the popularity of its glory days.

Background

A3!, short for Act! Addict! Actors!, began as a mobile game developed by Liber Entertainment. The anime adaptation was announced in February 2019 and is broken up into two parts, A3! Season Spring & Summer and A3! Season Autumn & Winter. A3! Season Spring & Summer began airing in January 2020, and A3! Season Autumn & Winter was scheduled to begin airing in July but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The anime is being directed by Masayuki Sakoi at P.A.Works with series composition by Naoki Hayashi, Nozomi Nagatomo adapting Ryo Fujiwara’s original character designs for animation, and Masaru Yokoyama and Kana Hashiguchi creating the music. The anime will premiere in Japan on Oct. 12 on Tokyo MX, Sun TV, KBS Kyoto, and BS11. It will be available for overseas viewers to stream through Funimation.

Characters

Autumn Troupe
Banri Settsu (Voiced by: Chiharu Sawashiro)
The leader of the Autumn Troupe, Banri is a highly competitive delinquent who excels at both academics and sports.

Juza Hyodo (Voiced by: Shunsuke Takeuchi)
A hard-nosed and lone-wolf delinquent, Juza had a longing for theater since elementary school but was afraid of what his peers would think. He has a passion for acting that is stronger than anyone else’s in the group.

Taichi Nanao (Voiced by: Kento Hama)
A playboy at heart, Taichi joined the group to become popular with girls. He is a moodmaker who treats everyone equally.

Omi Fushimi (Voiced by: Kentaro Kumagai)
Omi grew up in a family of four men since the death of his mother and became good at housework. He has a calm and mature personality.

Sakyo Furuichi (Voiced by: Yoichi Hose)
Sakyo is a yakuza member with the Ginsenkai. He joins the group to help them get back on their feet as the accountant.

Azami Izumida (Voiced by: Seiya Konishi)
Azami is the only son of the chairman of the Ginsenkai, and he butts heads with his father over his dream of becoming a make-up artist. He has a mature appearance.

Winter Troupe
Tsumugi Tsukioka (Voiced by: Atsushi Tamaru)
The leader of the Winter Troupe, Tsumugi is a childhood friend of Tasuku and aspired to play in the same troupe as Tasuku at university. He has a gentle and timid personality.

Tasuku Takato (Voiced by: Takuya Sato)
Tasuku is Tsumugi’s childhood friend and they were active in the same theater group until university. He is serious, stoic, and somewhat clumsy.

Hisoka Mikage (Voiced by: Junta Terashima)
Hisoka suffers from memory loss and has the ability to fall asleep at anytime, anywhere. Though quiet in nature, he is a skillful actor. He often slips away from practice to take a nap.

Homare Arisugawa (Voiced by: Toshiyuki Toyonaga)
Homare is a well-known poet who has published several books. He is a natural artist with eccentric behavior.

Azuma Yukishiro (Voiced by: Tetsuya Kakihara)
Azuma possesses beautiful looks and enjoys self-improvement. He has a calm personality and likes to do things at his own pace.

Guy (Voiced by: Satoshi Hino)
Guy is a self-proclaimed android from the Kingdom of Zafra. He rarely shows emotions.

Other
Izumi Tachibana (Voiced by: Kaori Nazuka)
The director of Mankai Company and the daughter of the previous director, Yukio Tachibana, Izumi is taking up her father’s legacy in an effort to save the company.
