Synopsis

Cocoa Hoto is a positive and cheerful girl who has just moved to a new town to attend high school and moves in with the Kafu family which runs a cafe called the Rabbit House Cafe. She quickly becomes friends with Chino Kafu, a quiet, precocious girl who walks around with a talking rabbit named Tippy on her head. After beginning to work in the cafe to pay for her room and board, she begins befriending a host of other unique girls including coworker Rize Tedeza, a serious girl with an obsession with guns, along with girls from other nearby cafes including Syaro Kirima, a hardworking, clumsy girl who works at Fleur de Lapin, and Chiya Ujimatsu, a playful girl who does things at her own pace. Together, the girls have silly caffeinated fun every day!

Background

Is the Order a Rabbit? began as a four-panel manga written and illustrated by Koi that has been serialized in Hobunsha's Manga Time Kirara Max magazine since March 2011. The series has been adapted into several anime seasons, OVA films, as well as visual novel by 5pb called Is the Order a Rabbit?? Wonderful party! that was released on the PlayStation Vita in 2016.

Is the Order a Rabbit? Bloom is the third season of the anime adaptation. It is being produced by Encourage Films with Hiroyuki Hashimoto directing, Kazuyuki Fudeyasu writing the script, Yousuke Okuda designing the characters, and Ruka Kawada composing the music. The anime premiered in Japan on Oct. 10, 2020 on Tokyo MX, AT-X, BS11, and other channels. It is being streamed overseas by Crunchyroll and will run for 12 episodes.

Characters

Cocoa Hoto (Voiced by: Ayane Sakura)
A 16-year-old girl, Cocoa has a bright and energetic personality who can make friends with just about anyone. She starts working at the Rabbit House Cafe to pay for her room and board. She treats Chino like a little sister. She is named after hot cocoa

Chino Kafu (Voiced by: Inori Minase)
Chino is a 14-year-old girl and the granddaughter of the Rabbit House Cafe founder. She is quiet, soft-spoken, and shy, but eventually she begins to warm up to Cocoa. She along with her father is the only one who knows Tippy’s secret. She is named after cappuccino.

Rize Tedeza (Voiced by: Risa Taneda)
Rize is a 17-year-old girl who works part-time at Rabbit House Cafe. She comes from a military family and has a disciplined, military-like personality and a love of guns. She always carries a Glock and a combat knife, even when she’s working. She goes to school with Syaro and is her upperclassman. She is named after thé des alizés.

Syaro Kirima (Voiced by: Maaya Uchida)
Syaro is a waitress at Fleur de Lapin and lives right next to Ama Usa An. She goes to school with Rize. Though she grew up poor, she acts with an elegant, refined air. She admires Rize and has a crush on her. She has a wild rabbit named Wild Geese. She is named after Kilimanjaro coffee.

Chiya Ujimatsu (Voiced by: Satomi Satou)
Chiya is Cocoa’s classmate and neighbor whose family runs the Ama Usa An cafe. She has a playful personality and likes to do things at her own pace. She is named after Uji matcha.

Maya Joga (Voiced by: Sora Tokui)
Maya is Chino’s classmate and friend. She is energetic and tomboyish. Like Syaro, she too admires Rize. She is named after Jogmaya Pearls.

Megumi "Meg" Natsu (Voiced by: Rie Murakawa)
Megumi is Chino’s classmate and friend and is nicknamed Megu. She is honest, feminine, and trusting, and is quite graceful from being trained in ballet. She has a pure innocence to her and can’t tell when people are lying. She is named after nutmeg.

Blue Mountain Aoyama (Voiced by: Saori Hayami)
A female novelist who goes by the pen name Blue Mountain Aoyama. Her real name is Midori Aoyama. She was close with Chino’s grandfather, who gave her the pen she uses to write her novels. She is named after blue mountain coffee.

Rin Mate (Voiced by: Juri Kimura)
Rin is Midori's friend and editor. She is named after Mandheling coffee

Tippy (Voiced by: Motomu Kiyokawa)
Tippy is a talking angora rabbit and the mascot of the Rabbit House Cafe. She usually sits atop Chino’s head and often helps Takahiro tend the bar at night. She is named after Tippy Golden Flowery Orange Pekoe.

Takahiro (Voiced by: Sho Hayami)
Takahiro is Chino’s father and current owner of Rabbit House Cafe who runs the bar at night alongside Tippy.
