Synopsis

The four-panel gag manga based on Cygames’ celebrated RPG series Granblue Fantasy is getting a short anime adaptation! Journey back into the vast blue skies to join Vyrn, Lyria, Katalina, Rackam, and many others and see a different side to the beloved characters and world of Granblue Fantasy!

Background

Grand Blues! is an anime adaptation of the four-panel manga of the same name by Kikuhitomoji based on the popular multimedia franchise Granblue Fantasy. It is being directed by Kenshiro Morii at DMM.futureworks and features a story by Kikuhitomoji, character designs by Soshi Kinutani, and music by Tsutomu Narita. The anime premiered in Japan on Oct. 8 on Tokyo MX and BS11. It is being streamed overseas by Crunchyroll.

Vyrn Voiced by: Rie Kugimiya (Japanese); Sandy Fox (English))
Vyrn grew up with Gran and acts as a partner who guides his fate. He is a mysterious creature that looks like a winged lizard. His favorite food is apples.

Lyria (Voiced by: Nao Toyama (Japanese); Kira Buckland (English))
Lyria has the ability to command the Proto-Bahamut. She fled from Erste Empire and was rescued by Gran, whom she now travels with. She is a naive girl brimming with curiosity.

Katalina Alize (Voiced by: Miyuki Sawashiro (Japanese); Erica Lindbeck (English))
A former knight of the Erste Empire, Katalina looked after and protected Lyria and thinks of her as her younger sister. She betrays the Empire and escapes with Lyria. Though a composed intellectual she has a weakness for cute things.

Rackam (Voiced by: Hiroaki Hirata (Japanese); Kyle Hebert (English))
Rackam is the resourceful pilot of the airship Grandcypher. At one time he refused to ride airships but takes to the helm once again after meeting Gran. He may look curt, but he is very helpful.

Io Euclase (Voiced by: Yukari Tamura (Japanese); Jackie Lastra (English))
A powerful magical girl, Io meets Gran while searching for her lost master in Valtz. She hates being treated like a child and longs to be a “grown-up woman.”

Eugen (Voiced by: Kazuhiro Yamaji (Japanese); Richard Epcar (English))
A former skyfarer who works as a mercenary in Auguste, Eugen seems to have a connection to the Black Knights, but has yet to reveal anything about it to Gran and the others. He is a good-natured person who uses his technical skills and know-how to save his friends.

Rosetta (Voiced by: Rie Tanaka (Japanese); Allegra Clark (English))
A beautiful and mysterious woman who meets Gran in the Lumacie Archipelago. She seems to know of Gran’s father. She has a carefree side to her and watches over Gran and the others.

Sierokarte (Voiced by: Emiri Kato (Japanese); Faye Mata (English))
An elusive merchant who seems to be everywhere, Sierokarte meets Gran and the others in Port Breeze. He likes puns and has a talking bird named Gotoru that accompanies him.

Sandalphon (Voiced by: Kenichi Suzumura)
An archangel who has awoken from a deep, long slumber, Sandalphon has inherited the will of Lucifer and seeks vengeance in order to fulfill a promise.

Jeanne d’Arc (Voiced by: Megumi Han)
A courageous fighter, Jeanne d’Arc inspires passion in her comrades and wants to guide the world toward peace.

Silva (Voiced by: Aya Hisakawa)
A distinguished sniper possesses a rare talent, Silva hopes that one day her name will be known far and wide, even by those in her sealed-off hometown.

Jin (Voiced by: Hiroki Yasumoto)
Jin is a skilled swordsman on a righteous cause.

Zeta (Voiced by: Kana Hanazawa)
A fearless fighter who hunts primal beasts as a member of the Society, Zeta is teammates with Vaseraga and wields the seal weapon Spear of Arvess. Her fighting style keeps her enemies at a distance with fierce attacks, and she also has a talent for aerial combat.

Soriz (Voiced by: Rikiya Koyama)
Soriz is a hardened warrior who has spent years undergoing harsh training and believes the only weapon that can be trusted is his body.

Narmaya (Voiced by: MAO)
Narmaya is a gifted swordswoman who has a single-minded determination to become the best.

Monika (Voiced by: Ayumi Tsuji)
Monika is an envoy of order who takes up her sword to fight for what she believes in. She is a reliable protector of the skies.

Lancelot (Voiced by: Tomoki Ono)
A duel-wielding master swordsman and the captain of the Feendrache Kingdom’s Order of White Dragons. He would risk his life to protect the kingdom he loves. His fighting style of quick footwork and agile slashes impresses all who see it.

Lecia (Voiced by: Ayako Kawasumi)
Lecia swore an oath to protect the skies and journeys with her friends to do just that.

Lily (Voiced by: Yuka Iguchi)
Lily is a young princess from a perpetually white land who prays for world peace.
