Synopsis

Fudo Aikawa and Desumi Magahara are a high school couple and totally in love. The only problem is they’re actually sworn enemies! His true identity is Red Gelato, the leader of the hero group Gelato Five, while her true identity is the Queen of Death, a fighter for the evil secret organization Gekko! Their relationship must never be found out, and they’re forced to meet in secret between battles. But can this courageous hero and evil fighter really keep their lovey-dovey relationship secret from the world?

Background

Love After World Domination began as a Japanese manga series written by Hiroshi Noda and illustrated by Takahiro Wakamatsu that has been serialized in Kodansha's Monthly Shonen Magazine since October 2019. As of January 2022, four collected tankobon volumes have been published under the KC Deluxe imprint. The manga is also being published digitally in English by Kodansha USA.

A TV anime adaptation was announced in May 2021. It is being produced by project No.9 and features Kazuya Iwata as director, with Satoru Sugizawa handling series composition, Akemi Kobayashi handling character designs, and Ryunosuke Kasai and Satoshi Hono composing the music. The anime’s opening theme song is "Koi wa Explosion" by Masayoshi Oishi featuring Yukari Tamura, and the ending theme song is "Koi wa Sekai Teiri to Tomo ni" by DIALOGUE+. The anime will premiere in Japan on April 8, 2022 on AT-X, Tokyo MX, BS Asahi, and TV Aichi. It will be streamed outside of Japan through Crunchyroll.

Fudo Aikawa / Red Gelato (Voiced by: Yusuke Kobayashi)
Fudo is a high school boy who loves weight training. His true identity is that of Red Gelato, the dependable leader of the Gelato Five. Fudo spent his days fighting for peace instead of love, but then he falls in love for the first time…and it’s with Desumi Magahara AKA the Queen of Death, an elite fighter with the secret organization Gekko, which is bent on taking over the world!

Desumi Magahara / Queen of Death (Voiced by: Ikumi Hasegawa)
Desumi is a high school girl who loves cute things. Though she longs for love, she is a member of the evil secret organization Gekko and spends her days fighting against the Gelato Five as the Queen of Death, leaving her no room for love. Or so she thought! One day, she starts dating Fudo who is actually Red Gelato and has to keep her relationship on the down-low since she’s really the strongest evil fighter!

Hayato Oji / Blue Gelato (Voiced by: Kazuyuki Okitsu)
Hayato is a member of the Gelato Five as the soldier of courage, Blue Gelato. He’s a good-looking guy who gets along well with others and is popular with girls. On the other hand, he’s the type who can’t help but catcall whenever he sees a cute girl.

Misaki Jinguji / Yellow Gelato (Voiced by: Nene Hieda)
Misaki is a member of the Gelato Five as the soldier of fate, Yellow Gelato. She is a reliable mood maker and acts as the older sister of the group. She loves to drink and gossip.

Daigo Todoroki / Green Gelato (Voiced by: Junji Majima)
Daigo is a member of the Gelato Five as the soldier of peace, Green Gelato. He is a quiet master of karate and is the spiritual pillar of the group. He is a skilled cook. Deep down, he harbors trauma that he can’t speak about.

Haru Orisugawa / Pink Gelato (Voiced by: Rina Hidaka)
Haru is a member of the Gelato Five as the soldier of love, Pink Gelato. She has a bright and bubbly personality, and she is active in battle even though she’s a newbie who has only been with the group for six months. She secretly has a crush on Fudo.

Kiki Majima / Princess of Magical Beasts (Voiced by: Kana Hanazawa)
Kiki is a member of the Princess Series, the main fighters of Gekko, along with the Queen of Death. She sees the Queen of Death as her rival. Though she looks rough around the edges at first glance, she is unexpectedly serious and sensible.

Kyoko Kuroyuri / Princess of Steel (Voiced by: Hisako Kanemoto)
Kyoko is a member of the Princess Series, the main fighters of Gekko, along with the Queen of Death. She is unperturbed by anything and is the type who isn’t very competitive. She gets along well with the Princess of Magical Beasts.

Anna Hojo (Voiced by: Ayane Sakura)
Anna is one of Desumi’s classmates. She is often shunned at school due to her flamboyant appearance that is constantly in violation of the school’s rules. For some reason, she often gets involved with Desumi, but her true intentions are unknown.

Professor Big Gelato (Voiced by: Chafurin)
Professor Big Gelato is a scientist and the commander-in-chief of the Gelato Five. He is in charge of analyzing information on enemies and developing weapons for the Gelato Five. He gently watches over Fudo and the other young heroes, and he is a hot-blooded man who fiercely inspires them at times.

Supreme Leader Bosslar (Voiced by: Tomokazu Sugita)
Supreme Leader Bosslar is the head of the evil secret organization Gekko. He collects the negative energy created from negative emotions and is bent on world domination. He is a fearsome leader with a regal appearance and a dandy mustache.

Culverin Bear (Voiced by: Hiroki Yasumoto)
Culverin Bear is one of the top brass of Gekko, and is the Queen of Death’s boss. He is a kaiju who has undergone a remodeling procedure and was fused with a bear. He has a rough and crude personality, but also has a hardworking side and is sometimes pushed around by the Queen of Death.

Hellko (Voiced by: M.A.O)
Hellko is Desumi’s pet cat. She understands Desumi better than anyone and is always there to help her feel better.

Urami Magahara (Voiced by: Chinami Hashimoto)
Urami is Desumi’s shy younger sister. She loves her older sister, whom she sees as being tough. She admires Desumi and plans to join Gekko in the future. She won’t allow anyone to deceive her beloved sister.

Ran Ran / Princess of Judgement (Voiced by: Nashiko Momotsuki)
Ran Ran is a member of the Princess Series, the main fighters of Gekko. Trained in special operations, she doesn't get along with others and has an air of aloofness and mystery. She is the complete opposite of Desumi.

Kira Sanzugawa (Voiced by: Miyuki Sawashiro)
Kira is a beautiful and kind school nurse at the high school Desumi attends. She looks after Desumi when she isn’t feeling well.
