OtapediaDragon Ball: Xenoverse 1, 2 & 3 Game - Dragon Ball

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 1 is a role-playing game released in February 2015 for Playstation 3, 4, Xbox 360, One and Microsoft Windows. It is based on the popular Dragon ball manga and the game was developed by Dimps and published by Bandai.

Story and Gameplay

The game features an entirely new story where the original Dragon Ball storyline is manipulated by two villians. Against powerful enemies, Son Goku and his friends are defeated and the storyline is different to how it should be in the manga/anime. To stop the two villains, Time Patrol Trunk asks Shenron for a strong individual who would fight with him and restore the timeline. That would be the character that the player would control. Together with Trunks, the player time patrols and fights the villians and also stops them from manipulating the history by fighting alongside Goku and his friends. There are originally 8 arcs; Saiyan Arc, Ginyu Force Arc, Frieza Arc, Cell Game Arc, Future Android Arc, Majin Buu Arc, God of Destruction Beerus Arc, Demon God Demigra Arc.

The battles are mostly set in 3D destructible environments. Free-roaming battles can take place on land, air or water. The player can customise their own character at the beginning of the story. There are 5 races that the player can choose from; Earthling, Majin, Namekian, Saiyan or Frieza’s races. Each race will have different skills and starting stats, for example Namekian will have high health and defence, whereas, Saiyan will have low health but high attack. During the game the player can also become an apprentice of characters from the Dragon Ball series. By completing a quest, the player can receive their Master’s Ultimate Move or items.
