Plot Summary

Nero Claudius and her Master Hakuno Kishinami have triumphed in the Moon Holy Grail War, gaining control over the Moon Cell Automaton computer. Nero is now the ruler of SE.RA.PH (Serial Phantasm) and has possession of the Regalia Ring which allows her to rule over her former enemy Servants. However, it turns out that the Regalia Ring, as well as the mind, body, and soul of Hakuno, have been split into multiple pieces each held by a different Servant. Meanwhile, the Earth is threatened by imminent invasion from Umbral Star Velber.

Fate/Extella is an action game released by Marvelous for PS4 and PlayStation Vita in November 2016. A Nintendo Switch edition followed in July 2017.

“Red Saber” is an embodiment of the 5th Roman Emperor, Nero, who has a reputation as a tyrannical oppressor. Taking the form of a blonde young woman, Nero Claudius is clad in a deep red dress and has a haughty, self-important attitude.

Mumei (Voiced by: Junichi Suwabe)

Adjudant Class: Archer
Noble Phantasm: Unlimited Blade Works
Mumei is an unnamed heroic spirit, cloaked in red and covered in wrought iron. He is sarcastic and cool-headed, yet also caring. Skilled with the bow, he is also adept at hand-to-hand combat. Though he is not a strong holy spirit, he can turn his hand to anything.

Gawain (Voiced by: Takahiro Mizushima (Japanese); Chris Patton (English))

Class: Saber
Noble Phantasm: Excalibur Galatine
The “white knight of the round table,” this Saber is the embodiment of Arthurian hero, Sir Gawain. A fiercely loyal and devoted Servant, he may not be the strongest of knights but knows no discouragement.

Cú Chulainn (Voiced by: Nobutoshi Kanna (Japanese); Tony Oliver (English))

Noble Phantasm: Gáe Bolg
Lancer is the embodiment of the “Child of Light,” Cú Chulainn of Irish legend. Despite appearances, Lancer is an afffable fellow but knows no mercy on the battlefield.

Li Shuwen (Voiced by: Yasui Kunihiko (Japanese); Chris Hackney (English))

Class: Assassin
Noble Phantasm: No Second Strike
Assassin is the embodiment of legendary Chinese martial artist, Li Shuwen. Killing is not his profession, but many martial artists have met their end with him. While he believes martial arts is a path to mutual understanding, death is something which cannot be evaded.

Tamamo no Mae (Voiced by: Chiwa Saito)

General Class: Caster
Noble Phantasm: Eightfold Blessing of Amaterasu
Caster is the embodiment of Tamamo no Mae who was the courtesan of Emperor Toba towards the end of the Heian era. With her invincible smile and wicked tongue, her “kitsune” ears are her trademark. She is intensely loyal, but harbors a resentment of Heroic Spirits.

Karna (Voiced by: Koji Yusa (Japanese); Chris Niosi (English))

Noble Phantasm: Vasavi Shakti
Lancer is the son of the Sun God, Karna, from Indian mythology. A handsome young man, he is merciless towards his enemies and though he seems to lack humanity, is sincere and thoughtful.

Elizabeth Bathory (Voiced by: Rumi Okubo)

Class: Lancer
Noble Phantasm: Báthory Erzsébet
Rumoured to be a vampire even during her own lifetime, Elizabeth Bathory is an infinitely beautiful woman who has found her true calling as an idol. She has evil horns, roguish fangs, and a dragon’s tale.

Ryofu Housen / Lü Bu Fèngxiān (Voiced by: Kunihiko Yasui)

Class: Berserker
Noble Phantasm: God Force
Berserker is the incarnation of Three Kingdoms warrior Ryofu Housen / Lü Bu Fèngxiān. After becoming Berserker, he has lost all power of reason as well as his martial arts from when he was alive. Even so, his giant stature and offensive/defensive abilities make him a formidable foe.

Medusa (Voiced by: Yuu Asakawa)

Class: Rider
Noble Phantasm: Bellerophon
Medusa is a gorgon from ancient Greek mythology. She uses her evil powers to stop heroes in their tracks and is a so-called “anti-hero” spirit Servant. Medusa may appear something like a demon, but is originally a goddess wearing ancient, indigenous clothing.

Atilla (Voiced by: Mamiko Noto)

General Class: Saber
Noble Phantasm: Teardrop Photon Ray
Saber is the incarnation of Atilla the Hun, a warrior princess wearing a white veil. She has the highest rank ability as Saber.

Gilgamesh (Voiced by: Tomokazu Seki)

Noble Phantasm: Enuma Elish
Gilgamesh is a hero from Mesopotamian mythology and proclaims himself as the the most ancient of humanity’s Hero Kings. He specialises in killing heroes in order to get his hands on treasure.

Jeanne d'Arc (Voiced by: Maaya Sakamoto)

Class: Rider
Noble Phantasm: La Pucelle
Jeanne d’Arc is the Saint who saved France. She is a deeply religious, earnest young woman who has a noble heart, upholding justice even when her person is threatened. Jeanne places order above all else and can be overly serious.

Iskandar (Voiced by: Akio Otsuka (Japanese); Jamieson Price (English))

Class: Rider
Noble Phantasm: Ionioi Hetairoi
Iskandar Rider is the embodiment of the “King of Conquerors”, Alexander the Great of Macedonia. Broadminded, he is a champion of the type never seen before who excels as an adventurer and a statesman.

Altria Pendragon (Voiced by: Ayako Kawasumi)

Class: Saber
Noble Phantasm: Excalibur
Altria Pendragon is the embodiment of King Arthur who rules over the Knights of the Round Table. With her battle abilities raised by her great magical power, one blow places her in the territory of gods.

Archimedes (Voiced by: Kazuyuki Okitsu)

Class: Caster
Noble Phantasm: Katho Phlegon
Archimedes is the greatest genius in human history and an early master of maths. He is a Servant who did not serve in the Holy Grail War, but stayed behind to take care of security at SE.RA.PH (Serial Phantasm). Archimedes was chosen for the position by the Moon Cell because of his skills, personality, and achievements. Reasonable and rational, he tries to be objective in settling matters.

Master

The champion of the Holy Grail War which was held on the moon. They are a magician conjurer with the power to directly access SE.RA.PH (Serial Phantasm).

Spin-Offs/Sequels

Fate/Ikustella is a spin-off manga by Roto Usagi that began running on the Young Ace Up website on March 06, 2018. Ikustella is set in a parallel universe in which the Masters are babies which are in need of care from their Servants, Nero, Tamamo, and Altera.
