Main Characters

Shirou Emiya (Voiced by: Noriaki Sugiyama)
Shirou has a strong sense of justice and wants to become a protector of justice after a promise he made to his father, Kiritsugu. He has a strong desire to save everyone and looks up to Kiritsugu as a hero. He has no knowledge of sorcery and doesn’t come from a line of magicians but knows how to use Projection magic thanks to Kiritsugu. After becoming Saber’s master, he tries his hardest to protect her and bring an end to the Holy Grail Wars. He is Saber’s Master.

Rin Tohsaka (Voiced by: Kana Ueda)
Rin is classmates with Shirou. She is as smart as she is beautiful and is viewed favorably by others. She is also very popular among the male students. She is a powerful magician who has been training for 10 years in order to win the Holy Grail. She is Archer’s Master.

Illyasviel von Einzbern (Voiced by: Mai Kadowaki)
Illya is a young girl from an aristocratic family. She may look innocent but she has a cruel, merciless side to her, believing that once you’ve beaten someone you should kill them and be done with it. She has extensive magic circuits throughout her body. She is Berserker’s Master.

Kirei Kotomine (Voiced by: Jouji Nakata)
Rin’s legal guardian, magician, and a father of the church who is also a member of the heretical Mage’s Association. Kirei was Rin’s father’s apprentice and the overseer of the Fifth Holy Grail War. He succeeds his father who was the overseer of the Third Holy Grail War. He is the Master of Lancer and Gilgamesh.

Supporting Characters

Kiritsugu Emiya (Voiced by: Rikiya Koyama)
Emiya’s adoptive father who saved him from death during the previous Holy Grail War. Before meeting Shirou, Kiritsugu was a stereotypical magus who was interested in only his own objectives and completing them at any cost. He wasn’t cruel or a cold-blooded killer, but he suppressed his emotions and killed anyone who was his enemy. He is the winner of the previous Holy Grail War, in which he was Saber’s Master.

Sakura Matou (Voiced by: Noriko Shitaya)
Sakura is a classmate and friend of Shirou’s. She is kind and caring and always helps by cooking and doing the household chores for him. She is Shinji’s sister and comes from a long line of magicians.

Taiga Fujimura (Voiced by: Miki Itou)
Fujimura is Emiya and Issei’s homeroom teacher. She is bubbly and energetic, and has a habit of coming over to Shirou’s every day for breakfast and dinner. She loves Sakura’s cooking. She is good-natured, sincere, and honest.

Shinji Matou (Voiced by: Hiroshi Kamiya)
Sakura’s brother, Shinji is a member of the archery team and Shirou’s friend since junior high. He is confident and prideful and is said to have been rejected by Rin which tore up his pride, so now he likes to embarrass the younger members of the club in front of girls. He is Rider’s Master.

Servants

Saber (Voiced by: Ayako Kawasumi)
Saber is Shirou’s Servant. Her true identity is King Arthur and her Noble Phantasms are her sword Excalibur and its scabbard, Avalon. She is loyal and dedicated with a high sense of honor and duty. Because of her incomplete summoning, her link with Shirou is weak and she cannot revert to her spirit form. Her wish for the Grail is to go back to her time to fulfill an obligation to her people as their king, which weighs heavily on her. At first she doesn’t understand why Shirou is protective of her, but she eventually begins to have feelings for him.

Archer (Voiced by: Junichi Suwabe)
Archer is Rin’s Servant. He is brash, cynical, and nihilistic. He thinks Shirou is naive for wanting to be a protector of justice. He fights with dual swords, named Kanshou and Bakuya, which he can make as many copies of as his mana allows, and which he can make explode on impact with an enemy. His Noble Phantasm is Unlimited Blade Works, a Reality Marble which creates a bounded field filled with swords.

Lancer (Voiced by: Nobutoshi Canna)
Lancer is Kirei’s Servant. His true identity is Cú Chulainn, an Epic Hero from Irish mythology. His Noble Phantasm is the cursed spear Gáe Bolg, which inflicts wounds that cannot heal. He is a fierce warrior but believes in justice.

Berserker (Voiced by: Tadahisa Saizen)
Berserker is Illya’s Servant. HIs true identity is Heracles, the strongest hero from Greek mythology. His strength is incomparable to any other servant. Due to his Noble Phantasm God Hand, he must be killed 12 times in order to be defeated. This goes back to his former life as Heracles who had to endure 12 trials to atone for his sins and as a reward was made immortal. Due to his Mad Enhancement, he is completely devoid of thoughts and emotions.

Rider (Voiced by: Yuu Asakawa)
Rider is Shinji’s Servant. Her true identity is Medusa, a Gorgon from Greek mythology. Because of this, she wears a cover over her powerful Mystic Eyes of Petrification. She is silent and vigilant, always ready to protect her Master. She has several Noble Phantasms including Bellerophon, which summons a pegasus she can ride and attack with, and Blood Fort Andromeda, a bounded field that drains life energy from whomever is inside it. Her main weapons are Nameless Daggers, spear-like daggers connected by chains which she uses to ensnare her target.

Assassin (Voiced by: Shin-ichiro Miki)
Assassin is Caster’s Servant. His true identity is Kojiro Sasaki, a mythical Japanese swordsman. Due to being a fictional Epic Hero, Assassin has no past, no place to return to, and no wish he wants granted by the Grail. He is stoic, condescending, and lives for battle. His main weapon is the sword Monohoshi Zao, and his finishing move is the Turning Swallow Strike - a secret sword technique that creates a multidimensional phenomenon in which his sword appears in multiple places at once as he strikes three times in rapid succession, leaving the opponent with no room for escape.

Caster (Voiced by: Atsuko Tanaka)
Caster is Soichiro Kuzuki’s Servant. She is also the Master of Assassin. Her true identity is Medea - a deceitful witch from Greek mythology. Noble Phantasm is Rule Breaker: a jagged dagger able to negate any and all magical pacts. She is a first-class magus from the Age of Gods who doesn’t need a master, and she initially killed her first master before hiding at Ryudou Temple. Her main offensive spell is Rain of Light - a rapid volley of powerful beams of light. She is able to use Territory Creation to create an underground temple as her lair.

Gilgamesh (Voiced by: Tomokazu Seki)
Gilgamesh is an Archer-class Servant from the previous Holy Grail War who forms a new pact with Kirei, allowing him to stay in the world. He is the King of Heroes from ancient history, and is said to be the oldest Epic Hero whose myth many other heroes were based on. He was obsessed with collecting treasures from all over the world, and because of this he possesses a great many Noble Phantasms in his Gate of Babylon, which he can summon at any time. He is haughty, selfish, and cruel. He is also extremely arrogant and selfish, and sees Saber as his property.
