Ozymandias appears as a Rider-class Servant in Fate/Prototype: Fragments of Sky Silver during the First Holy Grail War. His Master in Fate/Prototype is Shizuri Isemi‎. He is a playable character in Fate/Grand Order as a 5-star Servant of Ritsuka Fujimaru. He also appears in the gag manga series, Type-Moon Academy Chibichuki!. Ozymandias is in the 2020 film, Fate/Grand Order: The Sacred Round Table Realm: Camelot.

Ozymandias has several nicknames in the Fate series, including Ramessess II, Meryamen, King of Kings, King of Construction, Sun King and God-King.

Appearance

Ozymandias wears golden armor that covers parts of his torso area as well as his arms and hips. His chest and stomach area are mostly exposed, revealing his abdominal musculature. His outfit also includes a white cape that runs down to his knees with about a half-dozen end tassels. His legs, neck and arms are dressed in black cloth. While the neck and arm cloth is form fitting, the cloth over his legs is baggy. He holds a striped dark blue and gold hook staff longer than the length of his body. Ozymandias has short, straight black hair that sometimes stands up in a handful of spiky points. Most of the time, he is drawn with the ends of his hair combed downward. Ozymandias has also been drawn wearing modern clothes. This outfit is composed of black pants and an open button-down black shirt that exposes his chest. He also wears a golden necklace.

Personality

Ozymandias was a king and a Pharaoh in his lifetime and acts with the mentality of a god-king. In this way, comparisons could be made between himself and the Servant, Gilgamesh. Ozymandias loved Nefertari in life and saw her as a goddess. When he learned that his Master, Shizuri Isemi, used Nefertari’s necklace as a catalyst to summon him as a Servant, he was enraged, believing the necklace was stolen from her grave. He threatened to kill Shizuri at first, but then decided to let him live to see if he was loyal enough to the Isemi Clan to die for them.

Abilities

Ozymandias is an extremely powerful Servant. Even Saber (Arthur Pendragon) noted that Ozymandias was stronger than him. Likewise, Caster (Paracelsus von Hohenheim) believed that Ozymandias was powerful enough to destroy the defenses of his base if he wanted to.

Ozymandias’ magecraft also extends to a power like Mystic Eyes. He showed off this power when he was able to force the formidable mage, Misaya, to lose consciousness just by strongly glaring at her familiar.

Noble Phantasms

Mesektet: Anti-Army class. Also known as The Solar Ship of the Dark Night. The Mesektet can unleash several beams of light at once, or one large beam. These beams are powerful enough to burn up the surface of the earth. It is said the Mesektet could destroy all of Tokyo in mere hours.

Sphinx of Abu el-Hol: Anti-Army class. Also known as The Lion-Bodied Beast of the Hot Sand. It has the body of a lion and the head of a human. Although Ozymandias is a Rider, this beast is not one that he mounts and rides. The Sphinx of Abu el-Hol has the ability to cover its body in fire that is hot enough to melt and reshape concrete.

Anti-Fortress/Anti-Unit class. Also known as The Shining Great Temple Complex. Ozymandias’ ultimate trump card, this Noble Phantasm is like a Reality Marble. When Ozymandias activates Ramesseum Tentyris, it manifests a complex of temples so massive that it cannot exist in reality. The structure contains several Guardian Beasts that Ozymandias controls. It also grants him immortality and allows him to seal the Noble Phantasms of his enemies. Its most powerful attack, however, is the Dendera Electric Bulb. This is a long range blast that can destroy Tokyo in an instant. The attack is said to be much more powerful than the Excalibur Proto of Saber (Arthur Pendragon).

Role

In Fate/Grand Order: The Sacred Round Table Realm: Camelot (animated film), Ozymandias possesses the Holy Grail and uses it to create a kingdom where he is king. He fights alongside Ritsuka Fujimaru, Mash Kyrielight and Da Vinci of the Chaldea Group against the Lion King.

In Fate/Prototype: Fragments of Sky Silver Ozymandias is a Heroic Spirit/Servant of the Rider class that is summoned by Shizuri Isemi.

Development/Behind the Scenes

In the Fate/Prototype: Fragments of Sky Silver drama CD, Ozymandias is voiced by Takehito Koyasu.

Ozymandias was designed by Nakahara. Hikaru Sakurai worked as his scenario writer. Sakurai has actually stated that Ozymandias is her favorite character because she loves Egyptian historical figures.

Sakurai has revealed that Ozymandias’ hair points up when his tension is high and is straightly combed downward when he is calm.
