Overview
Fate/Grand Order - Absolute Demonic Front: Babylonia is an anime adaptation in Type-Moon’s Fate franchise that adapts the Babylonia arc of the massively popular RPG game app for iOS and Android, Fate/Grand Order.
Plot
Ritsuka Fujimaru and Mash Kyrielight of the Chaldea Security Organization are assigned to the seventh and last Singularity in the Grand Order initiative after the success of the Camelot Singularity. Their mission takes them to ancient Babylonia in the year 2655 BC. There, they learn that the Three Goddess Alliance is threatening the city of Uruk ruled over by Gilgamesh. It is up to Ritsuka and Mash to protect Uruk from the Demonic Beasts that threaten its annihilation while investigating the goddesses’ true motives.
Production
The anime is being produced at CloverWorks and features Toshifumi Akai directing with scripts by Futa Takei and Ukyo Kodachi, character designs by Takashi Takeuchi and Tomoaki Takase, and music by Keita Haga and Ryo Kawasaki. The anime premiered in Japan on Oct. 5, 2019 and is slated to run for 21 episodes. "Hoshi ga furu Yume" by Eir Aoi is the series’ first opening theme. There have been two ending themes thus far, “Prover” and “Tell Me,” both by artist milet.

Ritsuka Fujimaru (Voiced by: Nobunaga Shimazaki)
Ritsuka was a candidate to become a Master for the Chaldea Security Organization, but was chosen simply to meet a quota and didn’t have a chance of being accepted due to his novice skills. However, after the explosion at Chaldea he becomes mankind’s sole surviving Master. As the only one left who is capable of Rayshifting, he is chosen for the mission to eliminate the Singularities and save humanity.
Mash Kyrielight (Voiced by: Rie Takahashi)
Class: Shielder
Mash is a Shielder-class Servant for the Chaldea Security Organization who is contracted with Ritsuka. She is quiet, mysterious, and kind-hearted. However, this belies a deeper sorrow due to being the product of genetic engineering and having a short life span.
Fou (Voiced by: Ayako Kawasumi)
Also Known As: Cath Palug
Fou is a fluffy animal who accompanies Ritsuka and Mash on their trips into the past.
Romani Archaman (Voiced by: Kenichi Suzumura)
Also Known As: Dr. Roman
Romani is the head of the medical department and acting director of the Chaldea Security Organization.
Leonardo da Vinci (Voiced by: Maaya Sakamoto)
Class: Caster

Leonardo da Vinci is a Caster-class Servant of the Chaldea Security Organization. She is rational but has an insatiable curiosity for things that interest her. She crafted her appearance after the “Mona Lisa.”
Gilgamesh (Voiced by: Tomokazu Seki)
Gilgamesh is the king of Uruk in ancient Mesopotamia. He governs his people fairly but can be cold-hearted at times. He was close friends with Enkidu.
Kingu (Voiced by: Yu Kobayashi)

Kingu is a Lancer-class Servant who has been placed in the body of Enkidu. He believes that he must destroy the Foundation of Humanity and create a new world
Merlin (Voiced by: Takahiro Sakurai)

Merlin is a Caster-class Servant summoned by Gilgamesh. The mysterious mage of Authurian Legend, Merlin’s prowess as a mage is unparalleled and he possesses the ability of clairvoyance.
Ana (Voiced by: Yuu Asakawa)
Class: Lancer
Noble Phantasms: Viy Viy Viy, Sumerki Kremlin
Ana is a Lancer-class Servant with no Master who has been summoned to Uruk by the Holy Grail. She is quiet and tends to avoid people. She is working together with Merlin for some unknown reason.
Ishtar (Voiced by: Kana Ueda)

Ishtar is a Pseudo-Servant summoned in Babylonia using the body of Rin Tohsaka. She is the goddess of many domains including beauty, good harvests, war, and fertility in Mesopotamian mythology. She is Ereshkigal’s younger sister.
Siduri (Voiced by: Yumi Uchiyama)
Siduri is Gilgamesh’s assistant and helps support his rule of Uruk. She has a caring heart for the people of Uruk and advises Gilgamesh with their welfare and happiness in mind.
Ushiwakamaru (Voiced by: Saori Hayami)
Class: Rider

Noble Phantasms: Shana-oh's Wandering Tales, Jumping the Eight Ships at Dan-no-ura
Ushiwakamaru is a Rider-class Servant summoned by Gilgamesh to aid the defense of Uruk. She has a friendly demeanor outside of battle, but in battle she is cold-blooded and calculating, and has unparalleled swordsmanship.
Musashibou Benkei (Voiced by: Tetsu Inada)
Class: Lancer

Musashibou is a fierce warrior monk and Lancer-class Servant summoned by Gilgamesh to aid the defense of Uruk. His heroic tales are known all over Japan and much of the world.
Leonidas I (Voiced by: Shinichiro Miki)

Leonidas is a Lancer-class Servant summoned by Gilgamesh to aid the defense of Uruk. He is an excellent tactician and has great strength.
Jaguar Warrior (Voiced by: Miki Ito)

Jaguar Warrior is a Pseudo-Servant summoned using the body of Taiga Fujimura. She is friendly and carefree. It is unknown why she was summoned.
Gorgon (Voiced by: Yuu Asakawa)

Gorgon’s original true name is Medusa from Greek mythology. She is an Avenger-class Servant summoned in Babylonia. She leads the Three Goddess Alliance and seeks to eradicate humanity.

Also Known As: Winged Serpent, Great firebird of the Sun, Wind of Mesoamerica
Noble Phantasms: Xiuhcoatl, Quetzalcoatl, Piedra Del Sol
Quetzalcoatl is a Rider-class Servant summoned in Babylonia. Quetzalcoatl is peaceful with a bright personality and loves lucha libre. She is a member of the Three Goddess Alliance.

Ereshkigal is a Pseudo-Servant summoned in Babylonia using the body of Rin Tohsaka. She is initially a member of the Three Goddess Alliance but later joins Ritsuka in his cause. She is also Ishtar’s older sister.
