Assassin - Fate/Zero

Overview

Assassin's True Name is Hassan-i-Sabbah. He is also known as Hassan of the Hundred Faces, Hundred-Faced Hassan, and Old Man of the Mountain. He is able to split his personality into multiple beings and be in different places at once while controlling them all independently and at the same time due to his Multiple Personality Disorder also known as Dissociative Identity Disorder or DID. They also are different genders.

Appearance

Their appearance differs slightly between each one but usually they are dressed in an all black outfit that may consist of pants, a skirt, hood, and/or a bandeau around the chest. They have black skin and purple hair. They sometimes were bronze cuffs on their limbs, bronze necklaces around their neck, and silver hoop earrings. They have a very lean, but muscular build. Often times they cover their face with a skull-like mask that stops at their upper teeth. It has a glaring appearance.

Personality

As with Multiple Personality Disorder, the personalities differ between the Assassin’s alters. Each alter of Assassin has its own personality, but from the one that is shown the most, it seems their personality is like a rouge. Very sneaky. He also seems obedient as he follows Kirei’s orders without arguing or hesitation. However he had intended to steal the Holy Grail for himself, but never was able to.

Abilities

Assassin has many abilities to utilize because each of his alters has a different set of abilities as well as weaknesses. He is still unfortunately the weakest Servant of the 4th Holy Grail War because his total strength is divided amongst all his alters making them each quite weak on their own. His Presence Concealment however makes him a great spy for Kirei Kotomine and that’s all he wanted him for.

Wish

The wish Assassin wants granted for winning the Holy Grail of the Fourth Holy Grail War is to be made whole again. He doesn’t want to have Multiple Personality Disorder or be split into so many alters. He wants them all to come together so he can be one cohesive being that includes parts of them in his personality but in a way so that he has one personality not multiple.

Master

Kirei Kotomine is the Master of Assassin for the Fourth Holy Grail War in Fate/Zero. There isn’t much of any relationship, and certainly not friendship, between them. He just uses him as a tool and Assassin follows his orders. He mainly interacts with a female Assassin out of the many Assassins his personality is split into. Kirei doesn’t really even want to win for most of the war and this impact his treatment of Assassin. Poor Assassin wants to win though but is merely being used as a spy so that Kirei Kotomine can help Tokiomi Tohsaka win due to his father Risei Kotomine influencing his decision.

Role

His role in the Fourth Holy Grail War is simply to be used as a spy for Kirei Kotomine who at the time only cared about obeying his father Risei Kotomine and his father hoped to secure the Holy Grail with Tokiomi Tohsaka. At the start of the Fourth Holy Grail War one of his alters was killed by Gilgamesh which made the other Servants think that one Servant had already been taken out, but that wasn’t the case because in order to kill Assassin you must kill all his alters. Tokiomi and Kirei had wanted Archer Gilgamesh to kill that alter so it would be easier for all the other alters to spy on the other Servants and continue to provide them with information. Kiritsugu Emiya finds it all a bit too suspicious though and sends a familiar to keep an eye on Kirei Kotomine at the Fuyuki Church even though familiars are not allowed there. As expected, he finds that all isn’t what it seems when he spots another Assassin. Servant Rider (Alexander the Great/Iskander) and Waver Velvet also come to find out that Assassin isn’t actually killed when they find them also in Caster’s lair. The last bit of information that they are able to provide Kirei Kotomine (who shares it with Risei Kotomine and Tokiomi Tohsaka) is how strong Rider (Alexander the Great) is. Kirei has to use all of his Command Spells just to get them all to go. It takes all of his command spells because they know it is most likely a suicide mission. They crash the drinking gathering between Rider, Gilgamesh, and Saber, but greatly irritate Rider when they do not accept his offer of wine. Kirei definitely gets the intel he was looking for because Rider uses his ultimate move on the Assassins in order to take out every single one and officially kill of Assassin from the war. The move is Ionioi Hetairoi: Army of the King.

Death: Assassin was unfortunately the first Servant eliminated in the Fourth Holy Grail War of Fate/Zero. He was taken out by Rider using his ultimate Noble Phantasm Ionioi Hetairoi: Army of the King which was able to strike down every single last alter of Assassin which was required to make sure he died.
