Synopsis
The love which dare not speak its name! Prestigious boarding school Dahlia is situated on an isolated island and is home to students from two feuding nations - the eastern Nation of Touwa, and the Principality of West. Alas, Romio Inuzuka, the leader of the first-year students from Touwa, and Juliet Persia, leader of the Principality of West first years, have fallen in love! No one can know of their ill-fated romance or disaster will strike…
Background
Boarding School Juliet is adapted from the manga written and illustrated by Yosuke Kaneda which was originally serialized in Bessatsu Shonen Magazine in 2015 before moving to Weekly Shonen Magazine in 2017. An English translation of the manga is available from Kodansha USA. The manga has also been adapted as a light novel written by Tadahito Mochizuki with illustrations by Kaneda. The anime adaptation was announced on March 14, 2018 with the launch of an official website and premieres in October 2018. Amazon Prime Video will be streaming the series online in most territories.
The opening theme for the first season will be “Love With You” by fripSide while Riho Iida will perform the series’ ending, “Itsuka Sekai ga Kawaru Made.”
Characters
Romio Inuzuka (Voiced by: Yuki Ono)
Romio Inuzuka is the leader of the first-year Touwa students in the Black Doggy House. Sincere but clumsy, Romeo is not too bright and not too good looking either, but despite his clumsiness he is completely sincere. He’s been in love with Juliet since elementary school.
Hasuki Komai (Voiced by: Ayane Sakura)
Hasuki Komai is a childhood friend of Romio’s and a first-year Touwa student in Black Doggy House. She has excellent grades and is good at taking care of people so she’s very popular in the dorm. Hasuki is cheerful and outgoing now but was withdrawn and introverted in elementary school due to her poor health.
Kochou Wang (Voiced by: Rina Hidaka)
Kochou Wang is a Touwa student and a prefect of the Black Doggy House. Recognized as a prodigy for her skill at pharmacology, she enrolled as a second-year high school student at the prestigious school at 14. She is also the older twin sister of Teria whom she loves very much.
Teria Wang (Voiced by: Yui Ogura)
A prefect of Black Doggy House, Touwa student Teria Wang is a genius at engineering and enrolled as a second year at 14. She’s the younger twin sister of Kochou and is extremely shy.
Chizuru Maru (Voiced by: Tomokazu Sugita)
Chizuru Maru is a first-year Touwa student in Black Doggy House as well as the leader of the notorious gang in the dorm. He often quarrels with Romeo.
Kento Tosa (Voiced by: Yoshimasa Hosoya)
Kento Tosa is a first-year Touwa student in Black Doggy House. He’s a member of Chizuru’s gang and is crazy about bananas. Kento has an imposing physique but is lacking in the brains department.
Juliet Persia (Voiced by: Ai Kayano)
Juliet Persia is the leader of the first-year students from Principality of West in White Cats House. Accomplished in both the military and literary arts, Juliet is noble and kind - a beautiful woman hugely popular with her peers. However, she is sometimes too earnest for her own good. As the only daughter of a Western family, she is planning to take over the family name.
Chartreux Westia (Voiced by: Yu Shimamura)
Chartreux Westia is the princess of Principality of West and a first-year student in White Cats House. Extremely clear-headed, Chartreux has excellent reflexes as well as being super friendly. However, she is also incredibly selfish and has the nickname “Tyrant Princess.”
Scott Fold (Voiced by: Hiroshi Kamiya)
Scott Fold is a first-year student from Principality of West in White Cats House. He is deeply fond of Juliet. Contrary to his handsome looks, his actions are sometimes unusual. Scott is often teased by Chartreux Westia.
