Synopsis
Kenshiro Kasumi is a laid-back, chain-smoking professor at Towa Woman’s University, but, in secret, he is also the 62nd successor to Hokuto Shinken. When he learns that his former associates in Shanghai are in trouble and need his help, he has little choice but to return and become “Yan Wang” (“The God of Hell”) once again.
Background
Fist of the Blue Sky, published from 2001–2010, was a prequel to Buronson’s seminal ‘80s manga Fist of the North Star illustrated by Tetsuo Hara with story supervision by Buronson himself. Fist of the Blue Sky Regenesis is the continuation of Fist of the Blue Sky and began running in Comic Zenon in December 2017.
Fist of the Blue Sky was first adapted as a 26-episode TV anime which aired in 2006–2007. The sequel, Fist of the Blue Sky Regenesis, began airing in April 2018, and its second season will debut on Oct. 1, 2018 on Amazon Prime Video one week before its premiere on Tokyo MX, KBS Kyoto, Sun TV, and BS Fuji on Oct. 8. It is once again being directed by Akio Kazumi with series composition by Satoshi Ozaki and music by Masatoshi Nishimura.

Kenshiro Kasumi (Voiced by: Koichi Yamadera)
The 62nd successor to Hokuto Shinken, Kaneshiro Kasumi is a chain-smoking professor at Towa Women’s University in Japan who is popular with students for his quirky, laid-back personality. In his previous life in Shanghai, however, he was a much feared fighter known as “Yan Wang” (“The God of Hell”).
Erika Arendt (Voiced by: Sumire Uesaka)
A Jewish refugee with a photographic memory, Erika Arendt is the last remaining member of her family and has committed a catalogue of valuable hidden artwork known as “The List of Hope” to memory. Pursued by Nazis trying to get their hands on the information, Erika comes under the protection of Liú Fēi-Yàn who helps her get to the Shanghai Ghetto.
Liú Fēi-Yàn (Voiced by: Takehito Koyasu)
Known as the Death Bird Demon, Liú Fēi-Yàn was the second student of Wèi Ruì-Yīng and was feared by all until encountering Erika. Committing himself to her protection, Liú’s tough exterior begins to soften.
Yasaka (Voiced by: Setsuji Satoh)
Mysterious green-eyed warrior Yasaka harbors a 2,000-year grudge against the Hokuto over the death of his ancestor, Yahma.
Pān Yù-Líng (Voiced by: Yumi Touma)
Yù-Líng is Pān Guāng-Lín's little sister and Kenshiro’s long-lost love. Nursing Kenshiro back to health after he was beaten up, Yù-Líng fell in love with him even though her adopted father had promised her to another in marriage.
Yè (Voiced by: Kinryu Arimoto)
Member of Qīng Bāng (Green Gang) and the right hand man of Pān Guāng-Lín. Nicknamed “Two-Pistol Yè,” he sustained horrific burns to his entire body after being attacked by the Hóng Huá Huì and wears bandages to disguise his disfigurement.
Yè Zi-Yīng (Voiced by: Akeno Watanabe)
Zi-Yīng is the young son of Yè and was also targeted for assassination by the Hóng Huá Huì but was saved by Kenshiro to whom he also serves as a sidekick.
Charles de Guise (Voiced by: Ryotaro Okiayu)
Charles de Guise is a French Jew and a Colonel in the French army who also works with the Qīng Bāng.
Pān Guāng-Lín (Voiced by: Atsuki Tani)
Pān Guāng-Lín is the head of the Qīng Bāng and the older brother of Pān Yù-Líng as well as a good friend of Kenshiro.
