Synopsis
Super ordinary high school boy Tomari Hinowa gets a surprise one day when his teacher suddenly calls him out and tells him he’s been betrothed to a mysterious entity known as Kanenogi. Tomari has his doubts but signs the marriage registration form and starts living with his new spouse. Newlywed bliss awaits in this amusing married life comedy!
Background
Jingai-san no Yome is adapted from the four-panel comedy manga written by Yu Aikawa with illustrations by Akiwo Yasaka which has been running on the Zero-Sum Online website since June 2016. The TV anime adaptation was announced with the launch of an official website on June 21, 2018, with the first season set to premiere on Oct. 2.

Tomari Hinowa is a regular high school boy who was unexpectedly betrothed to a mysterious entity known as Kanenogi. He wasn’t really sure about it, but he’s the type who likes to go with the flow so he’s just trying to get used to to his new life. Tomari is particularly good at housework but sometimes gets lost in Kanenogi’s hair.
Kanenogi
Height: 200 cm
Kanenogi is a mysterious entity who selected regular high school boy Tomari as a spouse for unknown reasons. Kanenogi’s staple food is scrap wood from around town. Kanenogi also has a lot of hair.
Sora Hikurakawa (Voiced by: Kengo Kawanishi)
Height: 173 cm
Age: 16
Class: 1B
Like Tomari, Sora Hikurakawa is a regular high school boy who was selected by a mysterious entity to become a spouse and was already married to Fuwai before Kanenogi picked Tomari. It doesn’t seem like he has much of a problem with the arrangement. He is good at taking care of people and wants to become the kind of spouse who is easy to love.
Fuwai
Height: 30 cm
Fuwai is a small round creature with four stubby legs. Fuwai’s hair falls out when stressed and Fuwai gets particularly upset if people notice the bald spot. Fuwai also does not really like being touched.
Ichiya Mokusaibashi (Voiced by: Taku Yashiro)
Height: 183 cm
Age: 16
Class: 1B
A regular high school boy, Ichiya Mokusaibashi was force married to Tsukitsuka just after Tomari married Kanenogi. Though he was pretty laid-back before, Ichiya has totally lost his cool since marrying Tsukitsuka and has become a demon wife!
Tsukitsuka
Height: 148 cm (including outfit)
Tsukitsuka looks like a regular human but on closer inspection there’s nothing at all under the bandages! Tsukitsuka can read and write a little and is a determined sort of creature.
