Synopsis
The Himote House, which is managed by the Himote family, is nestled in Nakano, Tokyo. A shared residence occupied by five young women and their talking cat, they all just want what everyone else their age wants: to become super popular!
Sisters Tokiyo, Kinami, and Kokoro, alongside their talking cat Enishi and Kokoro’s friends Tae and Minamo, spend their days working, playing around, and brainstorming plans that’ll surely catapult them to popularity! The Himote House is witness to their hopeful, boisterous, energetic lives…and perhaps to something else entirely too, as everyone staying there seems to possess some secret power unknown to even them.
Background
Himote House is a comedy that is being developed as an original anime series. Announced in June 2018, it will premiere on Tokyo MX and other networks in October 2018.
Characters
Tokiyo Himote (Voiced by: Kaoru Mizuhara)
The oldest sister of Kinami and Kokoro, Tokiyo is 25 years old. She comes across as mysterious and mature with her calm personality and worldly knowledge. Though no one knows what her job actually is, she seems to be heavily involved in studying countries that may contain the secret to perpetual youthfulness. Because of this, she is always traveling to and fro, and is always referencing sayings from different countries in conversations. Her most attractive feature is her mole.
Kinami Himote (Voiced by: Suzuko Mimori)
The middle sister of Tokiyo and Kokoro, Kinami is 24 years old. She has a bit of a troublesome personality and despite her efforts, always ends up with a broken heart. Super feminine, she actually has a wild side that makes itself known from time to time, though she tries to suppress it as much as possible. Kinami works for a promotional company.
Kokoro Himote (Voiced by: Satomi Akesaka)
The youngest sister of Tokiyo and Kinami, Kokoro is 22 years old. The former classmates of both Tae and Minamo, she considers herself a realist and has a witty, sharp tongue. A lover of cats, her other hobby is spending time playing otome games. She hopes that, one day, she can find true love like in the games she’s played. Kokoro works at a government office in Nakano and has quite the ample chest.
Tae Hongou (Voiced by: Aya Suzaki)
The former college classmate of Kokoro, Tae is 22 years old. She is known as a troublemaker, especially because she’s the type of person to say whatever comes to mind with no hesitation. She also comes across as indifferent and nonchalant. Tae works as a shop assistant at a department store in Shinjuku, and can usually be seen wearing clothes from that store. Her most attractive feature is her yaebe (fang-like teeth)!
Minamo Arai (Voiced by: Sumire Uesaka)
Friends with Kokoro since middle school, Minami is 22 years old. Feminine and genteel, Minamo seems to exude all of the characteristics of the perfect woman in traditional Japanese culture. She speaks in a way that reminds others of Japanese literature. Though she holds a part-time job at a bookstore, she yearns to become a novelist. Her trademark feature is her bangs and long hair. Sometimes, she can be seen wearing glasses.
Enishi (Voiced by: Asuka Nishi)
Enishi is the pet cat of the Himote House, who also has the strange ability to talk. Sometimes, she’ll rattle off the newest net slang in a Kansai accent. Her favorite dish is tuna, and despite the fact that she’s a cat, she actually prefers to be around dogs since she has a cat allergy.
