Felt is a young girl who grew up in the slums as a thief who also happens to be a Royal Candidate to become the 42nd King of Lugnica. She is a short girl with fair skin, red eyes, and medium length golden hair. She goes through a few different costume changes throughout the series. She initially wears somewhat tattered looking practical clothing as one would expect from someone who grew up with little money. When Reinhard takes her in, she is forced to wear an elaborate yellow dress for the Royal Selection ceremony. After that, she receives another new outfit from Reinhard that is more practical to her tastes with light clothing akin to her time as a thief but more respectable in look. Felt is boisterous and loud, unafraid to speak her mind most of the time.
History
Felt was found at a very young age by Old Man Rom who took her in and effectively raised her. As such, she only estimates her current age to be 15 and her birthday as far as she is concerned is the day that she was found by Old Man Rom. She grew up poor and her life in the slums causes her to put a great deal of value on money as well as the drive to change the situation an individual may find themselves in. She is in fact the catalyst of the first incident in the story as she was hired by Elsa Granhiert to steal Emilia's insignia and proof of her status as a Royal Candidate.
Without Subaru's intervention, both Felt and Old Man Rom (who was brought in as someone Felt trusted for appraisal) would end up killed by Elsa. As it turned out, Subaru's meddling brought Emilia to the place of the trade and the combined efforts of the group manage to hold Elsa off until Reinhard could arrive to save the day. In the process both Old Man Rom and Subaru get fatally injured but are stabilized and saved thanks to Emilia's magic. As Felt was handing the stolen insignia back, Reinhard realized that it was reacting to Felt which meant that she was a Royal Candidate. He effectively kidnaps her and she would not be seen or heard from again until the Royal Selection ceremony.
Her appearance at the ceremony shocks many people as she actively antagonizes the nobles and expresses her disdain for the entire rigmarole effectively renouncing her claim to the throne. At this time Old Man Rom had snuck into the palace and set off a smoke bomb in an attempt to 'kidnap' Felt back. Reinhard foils this attempt by slashing the smoke away which causes Old Man Rom to be captured and executed. In order to save his life Felt retracts her renouncement and officially adopts Old Man Rom under her banner to save his life. She also proclaims to everyone present that she would fight for the throne and that once she claimed it she was going to tear down every single noble that (in her eyes) made this country so terrible to live in.
Later, Felt and her retinue would be invited to Priestella along with the other Royal Candidates. Before any proper discussions could be had the city came under attack by four Archbishops of Sin. Felt was integral in the fight against Ley Batenkaitos. During this encounter Ley tries to eat her name using his Authority but since Felt is not her real name, it caused him nausea instead. After a lot more desperate fighting Felt was able to charge a white staff metia created by Echidna that apparently even Reinhard couldn't avoid.
According to the author Felt is scheduled to appear once more in Arc 8.
Relationships
Old Man Rom - Old Man Rom is Felt's adoptive grandfather that she considers to be her actual family. She places a large amount of trust in him especially when it comes to appraisals.
Subaru and Emilia - Felt is very thankful to both Subaru and Emilia for saving her in the events of their first encounter. From Arc 5 onwards she refers to them as big brother (niichan) and big sister (neechan) respectively.
Reinhard - Reinhard is Felt's knight and backed her during the Royal Selection ceremony. Despite only knowing her for a short time he pledged has already pledged his loyalty to her.
Abilities
Divine Protection - Felt possesses a Divine Protection though it is currently unnamed and the limits of which are somewhat unknown. She has been shown to move explosively like a burst of wind. She has claimed to be more used to relying on this ability over tools and weapons. Its mobility potential also allows Felt to use it to climb up walls and buildings.
Pickpocketing - Felt is extremely agile and nimble, able to both use it for pickpocketing as well as in combat.
Felt traditionally uses a knife in combat, but currently also owns a powerful metia that Beatrice recognizes as having been made by Echidna.
