Regulus Corneas was a Sin Archbishop of the Witch Cult, representing greed, and was the primary antagonist of Arc 5. He was killed by Natsuki Subaru, Emilia, and Reinhard van Astrea during arc 5.
Regulus is described as having an average appearance, with medium length white hair and gold eyes. He wears a blue dress shirt with vertical stripes, a white coat with gold trim, white pants, white shoes, and white gloves.
Regulus is very selfish, but tries to deny his selfishness, believing himself to be selfless. He tries to justify his selfishness by blaming it on others. He becomes angry at people who go against his opinions, accusing them of ‘violating his rights’.

History

Prior to becoming a Sin Archbishop, Regulus lived with his family. He received the Witch Factor of Greed at some point, and used its power to kill everyone in the country he lived in, including his family.
During their time in Priestella, Subaru and Emilia bump into Regulus on the street, after which Regulus decides that Emilia will be his 79th wife. Later on, Regulus stops Sirius from killing Emilia, and abducts Emilia with the intention of taking her to the church to get married. He is later confronted by Reinhard van Astrea and Subaru, where he threatens to use his Authority to kill all of his wives if they attack him. Emilia responds by creating a barrier of ice to protect them. However, Regulus grabs Emilia by the neck, and demands that Reinhard allow Regulus to hit him once without Reinhard protecting himself. Reinhard agrees, after which Regulus kills him instantly, but Reinhard is not dead for long, as he uses his Divine Protection of the Phoenix to revive himself. Regulus continues to battle them, using his Authority to protect himself from their attacks while they try to find his weakness. They soon discover that he is sharing his heart with his wives, which they counter by having Emilia freeze all of his wives, while Subaru uses Unseen Hand to crush Regulus’ heart, rendering him unable to protect himself from attacks. He pleads for a one on one battle, which Reinhard accepts and swiftly smashes him into the ground, severely damaging his body. Regulus attempts to retaliate, but accidentally destroys a waterway, leading water to flood the hole he was in, causing him to drown.

Relationships

Pandora - Regulus treats Pandora as his superior, contrary to his self-centered personality, and refers to her as ‘Pandora-sama’.
Petelgeuse Romanee-Conti - Regulus and Petelgeuse were acquainted with each other as fellow members of the Witch Cult. Regulus did not think highly of Petelgeuse, referring to him as ‘abominable’ multiple times. Regulus betrayed him by bringing Pandora to the elf village in Elior Forest where Fortuna and Emilia lived.
Emilia - Regulus finds Emilia to be quite attractive, so much so that he vows to marry her upon seeing her for the first time.

Abilities

Authority of Greed - This authority primarily manifests as an ability called Stillness of an Object’s Time. Regulus is able to stop the flow of time from affecting themselves, anything they’re wearing, anything they’ve touched, or even their breath. Targets of this ability cannot be affected by outside forces and any attacks against the user in this state are negated. In contrast, Regulus is still able to interact with the rest of the world with increased effectiveness. For example, a wave of Regulus’ hand can cut anything in its trajectory, air released from the stillness causes shockwaves, and thrown gravel acts as inevitable shots. The difference in time flow also allows him to travel at extremely high speeds in normal time. This ability places a strain on Regulus’ heart as it also stops and can be deadly if used multiple times.
Small King is an ability associated with the Authority of Greed that circumvents the weakness of Stillness of an Object’s Time. It allows Regulus to merge his heart with a person in their kingdom which in practice is any woman that Regulus has confirmed to be his wife. Destroying the merger places the burden upon Regulus once again with no other discernible effects. No other specific conditions or effect area limitations are currently known for this ability.
