The Sacred Vollachia Empire - Re:Zero
The Sacred Vollachia Empire is the largest nation on the continent, and is located to the south of the Dragon Kingdom Lugnica. The Vollachia Empire’s emblem is a wolf with three swords impaled in it’s head. The Vollachia Empire has mild weather throughout the year, making agriculture very sustainable. The nation has many skilled magic craftsmen, but does not have many spirit magic users compared to Lugnica. Vollachia is also home to many Demi-humans, as a majority of Vollachian people see combat prowess as the most important aspect of a person, rather than their race or monetary status.
Military
The Vollacha Empire is a meritocracy, meaning they value an individual’s ability over anything else. This has led to Vollachia having an incredibly powerful army, making them the strongest military nation on the continent.
The Vollachian military is split into five ranks: (from weakest to strongest) Soldier, First-Class Soldier, Third-Class General, Second-Class General, and First-Class General. The nine strongest members of the military are titled the “Nine Divine Generals”, and they are all influential figures within the nation thanks to their immense power. The only members of the Nine Divine Generals currently known are: Arrachia the Spirit Eater, Balroy Temeglyph (deceased), Moguro Hagane, Goz Ralfon, Groovy Gamlet, Chisha Gold, and Cecilus Segmunt, the strongest of the nine.
Traditions
Emperor Selection Ceremony - The Emperor Selection Ceremony is the process in which the next Emperor of Vollachia is determined. This begins with the current ruling emperor having children with different women across Vollachia. The ceremony officially begins when the current ruling emperor is either ejected from the throne, or is burned to death by the Yang Sword Vollachia. After this point, the children are gathered at the capital city to see whether they are worthy to wield the Yang Sword Vollachia without being killed by it. These children must then defeat all other potential successors of the throne.
Locations
Rupgana - Rupgana is the capital city of the Vollachia Empire. The city is protected by a large outer wall. Unlike many major cities in Lugnica, there are no obvious disparities of wealth seen in Rupgana. Within the city lies the Crystal Palace, where the Emperor of Vollachia lives. The Crystal Palace is built out of magic stones, meaning the inside of the palace has an overabundance of mana, meaning it is easy for mages to defend it and attack from within it.
Gladiator Island Ginunhive - A group of islands in which many gladiator battles are held, with gladiators either fighting against Demon Beasts or other gladiators. This is where Aldebaran learnt to fight, and also where he lost his left arm, and received his signature helmet.
Garkla - Garkla was a military city located on the borders of the Vollachia Empire. It was destroyed by Regulus Corneas, the sin archbishop of greed, fifteen years before the main events of the series.
Notable Figures
Vincent Vollachia - Vincent Vollachia is the 78th and current emperor of Vollachia. Unlike the past emperors of Vollachia, Vincent does not want to start a war with the Kingdom of Lugnica. Vincent is capable of wielding the Yang Sword Vollachia, as is required by emperors of the nation.
Priscilla Barielle - Priscilla Barielle is one of the members of the Lugnica Royal Selection. She was originally known as Prisca Benedict, and is actually one of the daughters of Drizen Vollachia, the former emperor of Vollachia. She managed to survive the Emperor Selection Ceremony by faking her death to Vincent Vollachia. Like other participants of the Emperor Selection Ceremony, Priscilla is able to safely wield the Yang Sword Vollachia, and can summon it at will.
Aldebaran - Aldebaran, also known as Al, is Priscilla’s knight. Like Natsuki Subaru Aldebaran was summoned to the world of Re:Zero from Japan. Aldebaran spent 10 years in the gladiator arenas of Ginunhive, where he became the strong warrior he is known as today.
