Hetalia started as a historical comedy webcomic produced by Hidekaz Himaruya under the name Hetalia: Axis Powers. The story features personifications of various countries, regions, or other bodies of political power, characterizing each by their stereotypes, and putting together a storyline of events during the second world war. Not keeping strict to historical accuracy, the series uses a lot of comedy and satirical elements to create an enjoyable series for the reader, while also keeping many interesting facts about the timeline true to its nature.

The series was adapted into both an anime and manga serialization, both of which have occurred several times, each with a new story to follow. The first animated series debuted in 2009 and returned a year later with Hetalia World. The original manga series debuted in 2006 and ran for 7 years, producing six entire volumes of its monthly appearances in the seinen manga magazine Monthly Birz. Its second serialization, Hetalia World Stars debuted in the year 2014 and is still under active production in the Shonen Jump+ magazine.

History of Hetalia Nendoroids

First appearing in 2017 with a figure featuring Japan in his classic outfit from the original manga series, recently the series has been revived, with new Nendoroids being released from all the main characters of the Hetalia: World Stars manga serialization.

#753 Japan

Japan, also referred to by his human name Honda Kiku is the main protagonist and member of the Axis powers in the Hetalia: Axis Powers media series. The World Twinkle Japan Nendoroid depicts the character in his iconic white naval suit. He is shy and quiet, but hard-working. He is also somewhat naive about things outside of his immediate surroundings. His naive personality is taken from the country of Japan from the real world itself being kept in isolation. Since Japan doesn’t know much about the outside world he is very curious and wants to learn things about other nations.

Japan comes with his pet dog Pochi-kun, a pair of chopsticks, and a bowl of rice topped with a plum as holdable items. He is also able to be displayed with a purple bag case which would hold his katana. A special base is included in the set that has a cherry blossom pattern as an alternative option to the regular round clear base. Japan has two different facial expressions, with one showing a standard expression, and one showing blush marks and his mouth open wide.

#881 UK

UK, England also given the human name Arthur Kirkland is one of the main characters and member of the Allied Forces in the Hetalia: Axis Powers media series. The World Twinkle UK Nendoroid depicts UK wearing his standard military uniform. In the English dub of the series, he was given the name Britain, an alternative and easier way of referring to the United Kingdom. He is a character with a lot of history and evolution of personality and skills over time. At first, he was a rough former pirate however, he now claims to be a proper gentleman. He is still prone to speaking and acting rough. UK also has a naive side to him as he believes in many fantasy things such as magic, spirits, and faeries causing him to sometimes act spaced out. However, in the Hetalia world, he does have the ability to use magic and summon various mythical creatures, and cast curses.
